AUZZY Patch & Paint - Cost Breakdown - Small Job
At AUZZY Patch & Paint , it is difficult for us to make a small or one off Patch & Paint job cost efficient. Mostly because of drying times between various coats. Most jobs will require at least 3 visits to your home or workplace, therefore labour and travel time become a major factor.
1) First visit to cut out damage &/or apply the first coat (the most important one). We will take a sample out of the wall for colour matching the existing paint, patch that spot as well. Leave the job and return when the first coat is dry, usually the next day. Time = 1 - 2 hours.
2) Take colour samples to our paint supplier for a colour match, purchase paint and return to the job. Time + 1.5 hours + cost of paint.
3) Second visit to your home/workplace, travel to the job, apply second coat of plasterboard compound ready for painting once dry. Leave job return when second coat is dry, usually the next day. Time = 1hr.
4) Third visit to your home/workplace, travel to job, sand patch, top if necessary, paint 2 coats to repaired area only. Time - 1.5 hours
5) Clean & wash up brushes and rollers. Time = 1/2 hours
Therefore we are looking at between 5 and seven hours of labour + materials to complete single patch. Standard Cost for this type of job is $451.00 inc. GST
Multiple patches are much more cost efficient because once we have applied the first coat to say the 3rd or 4th patch the first coat on the 1st patch is dry enough for us to start applying the second coat, which means that we can stay on the job for at least 1/2 a day reducing the time we spent travelling between jobs significantly, making the cost per patch much more affordable.

AUZZY Patch & Paint DIY Solution, this option won't be for everyone. But if you are willing to have a go at this we will do everything we can to make it work for you.
* WE Travel to your home / workplace & apply the first coat. The most crucial part, if you get this right you are 3/4 of the way there.
* WE Cut out a colour sample for colour matching & repair plasterboard where we took the sample.
* WE Supply you with the materials and tools you need to complete the second and possibly the third coats of plasterboard compound. i.e. plasterboard compound, sanding block, plastic trowels.
* WE Supply you with a link explaining how to apply the second coat and painting tips.
* WE Supply you with an order form that you will give to your paint supplier. This information combined with the colour sample will tell them exactly what you need to do the job.
* YOU Apply second coatwith the materials we have supplied. Possibly apply a third coat if necessary.
* YOU Go to your paint supplier & purchase the paint needed. Don't forget the order form & colour sample.
* YOU Sand the patch & paint the repaired area.
NOTE: We are happy to supply a finishing service if you are not happy with your DIY. Cost will be $100
